Golden Autumn 1

Golden Autumn 1 - 48cms. The imagery I use comes from my stylisation of botanical studies of flowers and plants that I mix with references from traditional textile designs. I intentionally interrupt the visual uniformity repetition and symmetry of the imagery, changing its scale and regularity, as it moves around the 3dimensional form. The disruption creates unexpected rhythms within the composition. The patterns are hand drawn on to the porcelain to increase the liveliness and freshness of line and design. In this case I have worked with a limited palette of Gold, Black and Chinese Red enamels to create a contemporary aesthetic and an overall graphic richness and simplicity. The work can be viewed in the Adrian Sassoon new summer catalogue, please click the link in Bio. #adriansassoon  #adriansassoongallery #summercolours#summertime #textilepattern #goldblackandred #porcelain#handpainting #jingdezhenporcelain #botanicalillustration#botanicaldesigns #sylvaindeleuphotographer
