Art of the Kiln

This work is in the Christie’s auction - ‘Art of the Kiln’. I painted it in 2018 as part of the Ink Blue series, using chinese calligraphy brushes laden with cobalt oxide. I don’t think I will ever tire of exploring painting with this extraordinary pigment whose tonal range moves from a deep saturated blue to soft light washes.
